The Skyport Pro Hi-Sync Transmitter enables you to extend the flash sync speed range of a Nikon camera up to 1/8000th second with any Elinchrom Skyport RX equipped flash head. Hi-Sync technology allows you to freeze motion, overpower the sun to balance bright sunlit backgrounds with the foreground subject, use a wider aperture, and provides many other creative opportunities. It’s also easy to set up – just a few test shots are required to adjust the transmitter to the flash unit using its Over Drive Sync (ODS), and then you have up to 5 stops extra range to play with. Up to 10 heads in 4 groups can be controlled from the Plus HS, with both power setting and modelling light output adjustable. Powered by 2 x AA batteries, the unit has an integrated AF illuminator and can be updated when required via a mini USB port.
A large LCD display allows you to control and monitor each light's power level and modelling lamp setting directly from the transmitter, which instantly shows the updated power settings. If you set these from the head, a refresh button will then update the transmitter.
Over Drive Sync (ODS) fine tunes the Skyport Pro transmitter's trigger signal to a particular part of the flash curve of the flash head you are using. The latest ELC heads have a flatter curve to give them the widest useful range. You can also move this usable segment further along the curve if you want to reduce the light output further for a more subtle effect, or to use a wider aperture.
20 frequency channels are provided, which can be used for either Normal or Speed mode. The backlit display glows green for normal mode, and red for speed mode. Operating range is up to 200 m (656’) outdoors and 60 m (196’) indoors.
Skyport Pro is compatible with the three previous generations of Elinchrom flash units, including the EL-Skyport Transceiver RX module for Style RX, Digital RX, and Ranger RX systems, as well as the integrated EL-Skyport modules in the D-Lite RX, BRX, ELC Pro HD and ELB series heads. Includes an autofocus assist feature to help cameras focus in low light. This saves on using the modelling lamp – particularly useful if you’re using a battery powered set-up.
