The L-308X Flashmate light meter is the latest version of a design popular with student and amateur photographers for 25 years. It now reflects the capabilities of modern cameras by featuring full integration of both photo and cine/video functions. The auto backlight feature ensures you can read the display in any light conditions. For photo use, the L-308X can measure both continuous (ambient) light and flash light, with either shutter or aperture priority, with a 1/10th stop accuracy. Video and cine users can select frame rate or shutter angle settings and measure illuminance. Metering can be either from reflected or incident light, with a convenient built-in sliding diffuser. The last reading is retained in memory, and ISO and battery status display continuously for convenience. Powered by 1 x AA battery (not included).
Photo Mode Select either Shutter Priority to display a variable aperture, or if depth of field is important choose Aperture Priority to keep the aperture fixed. Flash metering can be with or without a cord connection. Exposure Value (EV) display is also possible.
HD Cine Mode Gives precise control over both exposure and frame rate settings, to provide readings with 1/10th stop accuracy.
Cine Mode Select from the right combination of frame rates and shutter angles to achieve 1/10th stop exposure accuracy. Lux and Foot Candle readouts.
Readings can be either incident or reflected light. Simply slide the Lumisphere to change. An optional Lumidisc can be inserted to provide a flat receptor for contrast or flat subject measurement.
Backlight LCD turns on automatically under EV5.
The L-308X can be adjusted to your film or digital camera’s exposure characteristics, or match it to other handheld meters. (+/-1.0EV in 0.1 step)
Three custom settings are available to select display mode, increment of measurement and unit of illuminance (lx or fc).
