The Digitaliza 110 Scanning Mask holds a strip of 110 format film and can be used with either a backlight flatbed scanner or on top of a light panel for copying via a digital camera. A clever use of magnets enables the film to be easily positioned and then clamped flat by the frame.
To use the Digitaliza first place the stainless steel base plate under the film holder. This allows a strip of film to be positioned and supported: a longer piece can be fed through the slots at the ends. The top piece is put in place and frame is then closed. These parts are all held by magnets, so the Digitaliza can safely be carried and put into position for use. The top part is then removed, which releases the metal base plate, and the film is ready to be scanned, held flat by its edges in the frame.
The advantage of the Digitaliza compared to other scanning frames is that it will accommodate panoramic formats, or films where frames are deliberately or inadvertently overlapped.
