The FilmCopy Vario Kit includes the 2457 support for 35mm slides and negatives (which is adaptable to other formats) and a matching daylight balanced 2453 Light Panel. A DSLR or mirrorless camera with suitable macro lens mounted on a stand or tripod is then used to digitise the illuminated images. Inserts for 35 mm slides in 5x5cm mounts and 24x36mm format masks with guide ridges for 35 mm film strips are included, and a 254x201mm mat surround prevents stray light from the lightbox falling on the top of the transparency or negative being scanned.
Includes the Kaiser 2453 Slimlite Plano Medium light panel - the mat is sized to fit exactly.
Mounted 35 mm slides can be placed directly on top of the frame. To insert film strips the pressure frame needs to be opened and the included 4486 negative masks substituted. These have a guide channel to allow the strip to be slid along (the frame needs to be slightly lifted to allow this).
The bottom part has adjustable stop pins for different film widths plus four steplessly adjustable masking strips.
Optional masks are available for:
6x4.5cm, code KA4431
6x6cm, code KA4485
6x7cm, code KA4436
These are the same as used in Kaiser System-V enlargers.
Certain types of film (e.g. Kodachrome) are more difficult to scan. Using a digital camera to photograph the original can result in a superior and more natural result, with subtler rendering of tones.
Included in the box:
FilmCopy Vario holding device
Format mask for mounted 35 mm slides (4489)
Pair of format masks 24 x 36 mm (4486)
