The 4-section GT1545T Traveller tripod complete with a matching GH1382TQD ball and socket head. This tripod offers the tallest working height and best rigidity of the Series 1 Travellers. The GH1382TQD ball head fits neatly between the tripod legs when folded and has an Arca-pattern simple screw-lock quick release, separate panning lock and bubble level. The use of Carbon eXact carbon fibre tubes enables a narrower top tube without a very narrow smallest tube, and the new compact G-leg locks enable a greater working height compared to its predecessor.
The GT1545T has 4 section legs which are have 2 angle settings. At the lower setting the supplied short centre column allows a very low shooting postion of 22cm. This is quickly attached by unscrewing the top platform of the main column, sliding it down, inserting the short column and re-attaching the platform.
The GH1382TQD ball head fits neatly between the tripod legs when folded and has an Arca-pattern simple screw-lock quick release, separate panning lock and bubble level. Supplied with a GS5370SD (40x5mm) short plate, it will also accept most other manufacturers’ Arca-pattern plates. It can also be removed, should an alternative be required for a particular purpose.
The Carbon eXact tubing uses High Modulus carbon fibre, resulting in a thinner but stiffer tube wall. This allows larger section tubes to be used on all models (e.g. the bottom tube of the 5-section tripod was 8mm, and is now 11.2mm diameter). So the Travellers are extremely rigid as a result.
Larger Gitzo tripods have had G-Locks for some time. The strength of this lock design actually increases with downward pressure. The Travellers have an adapted version of this which is more compact, and which has improved grip and reduced the folded length, and increased working heights compared to their predecessors.
A high quality carrying strap with leather pad is supplied This can be attached in two ways to allow the tripod to be carried hanging horizontally or vertically.
