Multigrade FB Classic is a premium quality fibre-base variable contrast black and white paper on a 255gsm base with a glossy (1K) surface. Classic papers give a neutral image colour with rich blacks and an extended contrast range. Compared to the MGIV resin coated papers, exposure times are shorter, and they have a much improved toning capability, although washing times are extended.
Designed for use with all enlargers, it can also be used with most common safelights with 15w illumination. Direct exposure longer than 4 minutes is not recommended, and the minimum distance between paper and safelight should be 1.2m (4ft).
Ilford recommend a print wash time of 1 hour, and a final rinse with a 1:200 dilution of Ilfotol will aid even and rapid drying.
