A compact stand-alone scanner for 35mm, 126 and 110 slide and negative pictures, and Super 8 cine film single frames, converting them to jpeg images. It uses a 14MP sensor (can be interpolated to 22MP), which creates the file in around 2 seconds, and has a 2.4" colour TFT monitor. The scanner accepts SD cards up to 32GB for storing the scanned images, and these can be transferred to a PC via the USB port. The push-button interface on the top controls all the functions and exposure and colour can be adjusted before the scan in made. Power is by 5v USB (mains adapter supplied).

Product highlights

To use, just select the correct holder for the type of film - this can be 35mm, 126 black and white or colour negs, or 35mm mounted colour slides - and insert the carrier (110 and Super 8 require the supplied inserts).
Turn on the scanner, ensure there's an SD card (not included) in the slot on the back, select the film type, line up the picture on the 2.4" screen, and check the image. If it's too dark or light, you can adjust the exposure, or change the colour balance. Press OK, and in 2 seconds you can review the digitised image.

Sample images
Are from 30-40 year old originals, resized and with exposure adjusted, but otherwise full frame, uncorrected, and unsharpened. Kodachrome slide, Tri-X black and white, and Fuji colour negative. The colour loss from the latter because of the orange mask can be easily tweaked in an image editing program. Full frame scans are 4608x3251 pixels @ 3251dpi which resize to around 37x25cm @ 300dpi output. There is slight cropping of the image.
