The CamFi is a wireless controller for Canon and Nikon DSLRs which creates its own wi-fi hotspot to connect to a free downloadable app which is compatible with iPhone and iPad and Android mobiles, or Windows and Mac computers. It allows comprehensive camera function control, including ISO, exposure, and focusing, and provides multiple timing options. You can also stream live view output to the device. The working distance is up to 50m, and the CamFi's neat lightweight enclosure means that it's easy to take with you at any time.

Product highlights

Display shows exposure mode, shutter speed, aperture, ISO and EV. Selecting any of these brings up slider controls to adjust any of them.
Time lapse mode has a quick setting with options for either 3s or 10s delay, or an Advanced Mode which allows adjustment of:
Start-up time
Shooting interval
Shooting numbers
Bulb mode
Manual focus via live view is achieved by tapping the screen at the desired point of focus. A switchable grid can be superimposed.
Control of video recording is possible via CamFi, but note that it is not possible to stream or send videos to the device or computer.
Exposure bracketing control with choice of shutter speed, aperture or ISO.
Focusing stacking mode (lens must be set to AF).
Auto View mode enables streaming of the live view output for instant review on a large screen. RAW file format is also supported, although the speed of this is dependent on the transmission distance and and local interference (typically 2-3MBps).
See and browse thumbnails of pictures taken, and select any for sharing on social networks.
Power is by internal non-removeable 1800mAh lithium battery; charge using the supplied cable from a USB charger or computer output which will give about 6 hours operating time.
The cable of CamFi is designed for standard mini USB 2.0 which is used in most DSLR cameras. Some cameras use a USB 3.0 port such as Canon 7D Mark II, 5DIII, 5D S, Nikon D810. Some Nikon cameras such as the D3200, D5100, D7100 use a unique USB connector. For these cameras, you just use their original cables to connect to CamFi.
