To order: 10-14 days The Novoflex MagicBall Free is a further development of the innovative MagicBall design which quite literally turns it on its head. The ball is released from the shell and attached to the base of a camera, where it becomes a comfortable and secure grip. It can then either be used in conjunction with the small Shell, which screws either to the supplied short leg for use as a mobile steadying support, or to a monopod or anything with a ¼” screw. For tripod use, the ball is placed in the head housing and locked in position with a lever, whereupon it becomes a conventional MagicBall, albeit inverted (it can also be used in ‘normal’ orientation).
Using the Ball Free with the Shell
The Ball pushes into place in the Shell with a slight ‘snap’. This retains it and allows free movement, but note that it won’t hold the weight of the camera if it’s let slip. The Shell has a slot in the edge to enable the camera to be used at 90°. To remove the camera, just pull the Ball out.
Using the Ball Free with the MagicBall
The Ball pushes into in the housing, and the small blue lever moves to secure it. The side lever locks to ball in any position. Although its position is inverted, there is no restriction on movement as compared to the MagicBall be used conventionally. To release the Ball, the lever is pushed all the way down the slot.
The Ball Free is a versatile, easily portable accessory which provides instant extra support to ensure shake-free shots
The Ball adds a useful and comfortable grip on the camera.
There is approx. 240° of movement on the open side of the MagicBall.
The Shell allows easy panning and following of moving subjects, and can be used with other supports like chest harnesses.
The MagicBall will hold a 5kg load, and can be used either way up.
