The PlusX transceiver is based on the Plus III, but has 10 channels, selectable via a permanently-backlit dial, and controls a single rather than mutliple groups. It automatically senses whether it needs to operate as a transmitter or receiver and uses the 433MHz frequency to reliably trigger flashguns or cameras up to 500m away. It can be used with other PocketWizard transmitters, and as a relay transmitter to extend operating range. Robust and reliable, it is powered by 2 x AA batteries.
Patented ‘Auto Sensing Technology’ means the PlusX transceiver will automatically sense whether it is connected to flash or camera and switch to transmit or receive mode.
Channel select dial is permanently backlit. Just set both transceivers to the same channel and start shooting. All receiving devices will be in a single zone of operation.
Low-cost extra trigger for users who already have Plus-series, MultiMax and ControlTL system devices. If the other PW trigger uses the same 433MHz frequency, the channel numbers will be the same.
Auto-relay mode when used to trigger a camera (extra cable required) allows a PlusX to receive a signal from the transmitter, fire the camera, then automatically switch to transmit to other PW-equipped flashes on the next channel up to fire them. This feature can be disabled to ensure the PlusX stays in transmit-only mode.
Internal aerial prevents an accidental breakage. Compact dimensions (10.7H x 5.3W x 3D cm) and light weight (110g).
Up to 500m range depending on local conditions. Sync speeds: 1/250th (focal plane shutter); 1/500th (leaf shutter). Triggering speed up to 14.5 frames per second.
Uses 2 x 1.5v AA alkaline batteries (not included). NiCad, NiMH, NiZn and Lithium equivalents can be used but may not report battery life accurately.
