The PocketWizard Plus 4 provides on-camera TTL flash operation with Canon, Nikon and Panasonic cameras, coupled with multi-flash manual remote triggering. It has 32 selectable channels (16 standard, and 16 for quad-zone operation) to ensure no interference with other photographers operating in the same area. Four separate zones can be independently selected to allow single or groups of flashes or cameras to be turned on or off. Using the EC-approved 433MHz wavelegth up to a range of 500m, the Plus IV operates as a transmitter or receiver, and automatically detects in which mode it needs to operate (e.g. when attached to a camera hot shoe it sets to transmitter). It can trigger a flash and a camera simultaneously. A backlit 2.5cm display shows battery status, selected zones and channel and operation mode.
TTL pass-through operation is an ideal solution for wedding photographers and many other scenarios.
Intuitive simple user interface with auto-illuminated panel.
32 channels (16 standard/16 quad-zone) ensure interference free operation in the vicinity of other photographers using triggers.
Quad-zone triggering gives you 4 groups A, B, C, and D of flashes, each of which can be turned on or off from the camera position.
Uses 433MHz wavelength with a range of up to 500m. In difficult conditions this can be nearly doubled using Long Range Mode, or by using another Plus Iv or III as an intermediate repeater. Maximum sync speed may be reduced in these instances.
Sync speed up to 1/250th sec focal plane shutter; 1/500th for leaf shutters. Triggering frequency is 12fps, which can be increased to 14.5fps.
Non hotshoe connection is via 3.5mm minijack. External power connection by USB Mini-B (also used for firmware updates).
Powered by 2 x AA batteries, alkaline or rechargeable. External power input 5v <100mA.
