The Q=Base tripod quick release provides a speedy snap-lock alternative to users of Arca-Swiss, Graf, Kirk and similar plates. Pressing the plate down immediately secures it, but allows some sliding lateral adjustment, before an eighth-turn of the bottom knurled ring locks it solid. Novoflex Q-plates also have a central safety pin. This also allows safe one-handed attachment or release of the camera. n.b. not supplied with camera plate
