Can be used with other makes of head, but the base on which the Power Release sits must be 10mm less in diameter, otherwise the grip is fouled.
Complete with one 1/4" screw camera plate.
Once the plate is inserted, about one turn of the knurled collar secures it. For heavier loads, just tighten harder to ensure a rock solid connection.
Base connection is 3/8". Because of the locking and unlocking twisting motion, it needs to be secured to the head screw with threadlock adhesive.
