The Seven5 Solar Eclipse Filter is a 75x75mm square glass dense filter designed specifically for photographing a solar eclipse (please see the notes below regarding use). Because of the light intensity of the sun, trying to photograph a solar eclipse, even using the lowest ISOs and fastest shutter speeds results in overexposed, blown-out images which fail to properly show the fascinating process. As a result, a very strong, specialised dense filter is required in order to bring the exposure range down to manageable levels. The Lee Solar Eclipse filter is designed specifically for this job. Supplied with a foam lined protective tin.
The solar eclipse filter is designed solely for simple photography of solar eclipses or the surface of the sun. It is NOT suitable for general long-exposure landscape photography. It is also NOT intended as a viewing filter for solar events. Never look through the filter directly at the sun, as there is a risk of severe eye damage.
As the Solar Eclipse Filter has been designed to filter out some of the sun’s harmful infrared rays, it is very blue in colour. This cast can be corrected, but is one reason why the filter should not be used for general photographyn
Supplied with full instructions for use.
