The 600EX II-RT is the professional Canon flashgun with built-in radio triggering giving remote lighting control over distances up to 30m.
Radio wave triggering of up to 5 groups totalling 15 flashguns at distances up to 30m. Unlike infra-red this will pass though obstacles, and there are 15 different channels to enable use without interference from other photographers.
The 600EX-RT II can also be used to trigger up to 15 cameras - each needs to be equipped either with another 600EX-RT or the ST-E3 RT transmitter/receiver.
Durability and weatherproofing is on a par with the top-end Canon DSLRs - all moving parts around buttons etc are sealed and the hotshoe has been redesigned to give seamless communication with the camera.
Zoom coverage is 20-200mm on full-frame, with a pull-out panel to extend the wide-angle end to 14mm. The flash can be set to optimise coverage for APS formats as well.
A dot matrix LCD panel (172 x 104 dots) displays flash status, wireless configuration and all flash settings, with more detailed information in comparison to previous systems. Combined with backlit operation buttons, the 600EX-RT II is as easy to operate in the dark as in daylight.
Colour filter holder enables colour temperature adjusting filters to be used to balance flash output with ambient lighting.
18 custom functions control user choice of flash output settings, and there are 7 Personal functions such as the colour of the LCD panel which can be set.
Head can be angled 90° up and 7° down, and can be rotated 180° in either direction.
