  • Made from robust expanded PVC, the Obscura consists of two parts. The front part slides inside the rear to hold the film or paper in place, and is retained by a magnet. This also creates a neat black border around the image. 1/4" tripod connection.
  • The 0.3mm pinhole is chemically-etched on a stainless steel plate, and has an effective aperture of f248 with a focal length of 87mm. This accurate forming of the pinhole gives a high quality image with even illumination.
  • Exposure is controlled by a swivelling shutter, held in the open and closed positions by small magnets. Operation is thus positive and smooth.
  • Only one picture may be exposed at a time, and to facilitate taking several shots, a spare light-proof box to store exposed pictures is also supplied. You will need a changing bag to transfer film or paper to and from the camera - we recommend the large Kood bag which gives plenty of room.
  • Keep your Obscura plain and simple, or customise it with the supplied sheet of transfer logos.
  • The camera is supplied with:
    * 20 sheets Ilford Multigrade IV RC paper (gives a negative image when processed)
    * 10 sheets Ilford Delta 100 black and white film (tank process)
    * Self-assembly Exposure Calculator
    * Spare light-proof storage box
  • Also available again is Harman Direct Positive paper. This is the same 4x5" format, and when exposed and dish developed produces a positive image. Ideal if prints of this size are what's required.
  • Tripod Connection:  1/4"
