Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro Microphone

The Rode Stereo VideoMic has a matched pair of 1/2" condenser capsules in X/Y stereo configuration which are set under an integrated foam windscreen to give broadcast quality sound in a very compact form. The cardioid pattern reception captures a broad soundstage to the front whilst rejecting sounds at the rear of the camera position. It includes a selectable high-pass filter and boost and attenuation controls to optimise sensitivity for any recording environment. The latest version has a Rycote Lyre shock mount to substantially reduce noise from handling the camera.

  • Weighs only 116g and is very compact.
  • Switchable 75Hz high pass filter removes low pitched sound like traffic noise.
  • Integrated anti-shock Rycote Lyre suspension mount.
  • Level settings, which attenuate or boost the recorded level, are included. The -10dB level attenuation (or PAD) is ideal for recording loud sound sources, such as live music, motorsport, or interviews where the subject is very close to the camera. The +20dB level boost is designed for use with DSLR cameras such as the Canon 5DMkII, Canon 7D, Canon 1D, Canon 550D/T2i, Canon 60D, Nikon D7000, Nikon D5100, Panasonic GH1 and Panasonic GH2. This boost in the microphone output allows the user to reduce the camera's mic input level, thus reducing the amount of noise generated by the camera's comparatively low quality audio circuitry.
  • 3.5mm stereo minijack output.
  • Powered by a 9V battery which gives around 100 hours recording time.
