Even the best digital cameras are incapable of consistently delivering accurate color without the user performing a custom white balance. Auto (AWB) and preset white balance functions often produce maddeningly inconsistent results. Images shot without a correct white balance may have unnatural looking red, yellow or blue tints that are time consuming and difficult, if not impossible to correct. The ExpoDisc eliminates the inconvenience and inconsistencies of this and white balancing method which involve using grey cards. It's a neutral diffusion filter that passively transmits 18% of the ambient light the the camera meter, effectively producing a 'grey frame'. You then set a custom white balance which results in accurate colour in nearly all lighting conditions. Every Expodisc is made and calibrated at the factory in California to ensure accuracy.
