Modern lenses rarely have depth of field indication marked on them, and many camera bodies do not allow the lens to be stopped down to enable visual assessment through the viewfinder. The ExpoAperture allows the correct aperture for a desired depth of field to be calculated; or the depth of field for a given aperture to be found. One disc caters for focal lengths from 15mm to 135mm; the other for telephoto lenses 70-600mm. Here's how it works: Using the Zone Dial on one side of the calculator, find the range of distances you would like to be in focus, and read off the number of zones this represents. Find the middle of the zone area and set your camera lens to the corresponding distance. Flip over the calculator and rotate the dial to set the focal length of the lens. Find the number of zones calculated previously and read off the aperture. That's it! Includes Quickstart Guide, storage pouch and sensor format reference guide.
